Steven Shadur

Partner

Spending the majority of his career in public practice in the areas of business services and taxation, Steven has also experience in corporate finance having spent over three years as a company secretary for a listed public company.  A long-standing Partner, Steven initially joined Jack Feldman & Co in 1989 and has been instrumental to the company’s growth and success. Today under the new name of SCG Accountants & Advisors, Steven continues to strengthen the flourishing practice to reach its full potential.

Steven works closely with his clients and their families to successfully develop strong and long-standing relationships by helping to improve their businesses and assist with their personal wealth management. This includes serving as a management and advisory board member for large private business groups and supporting businesses in their expansion and succession planning.

Steven has the ability to understand and appreciate the interests and objectives of all parties when advising and assisting with financial transaction and business matters.

His breadth of experience has allowed him to provide clients with a range of additional and complementary services, such as self-managed superannuation, corporate governance, performance evaluation, and operational reviews of varying size and complexity.

A very hands-on, focused and astute adviser, he is acknowledged by clients as a highly capable professional with the ability to deliver highly personalised advice.

Jonathan Caplan

Partner

Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, Jonathan Caplan has successfully transferred his knowledge and expertise across two continents to start his own accounting practice in 2016.

Qualified as an accountant in both Australia and the United Kingdom,  Jonathan joined Melbourne based accountancy firm GMK Partners in 2006. There he provided accounting expertise across a broad range of businesses including experience with superannuation, family succession and estate planning matters for a large client base inclusive of high-net worth individuals and professionals. In April 2015, GMK merged with Deloitte Private where Jonathan was a Director.

With a proven track record, Jonathan has developed a strong focus in services to barristers, medical specialists as well as clients in the property development and construction industries. 

His focus is on understanding and meeting client objectives and building robust and long term client relationships.

As a Partner and trusted advisor in a boutique St Kilda Road firm, Jonathan’s skillset is greatly valued by his many clients and he is particularly sought after by young entrepreneurial clients. Jonathan has open, transparent client relationships that give him a detailed understanding of clients' business and their personal affairs. He leads a team which strives to deliver a range of services typically associated with a much larger firm, but with a personal touch.

What energises Jonathan and fuels his passion are his endeavours to provide excellent client service. Service and advice that is outstanding and goes above and beyond.

Jonathan has over 20 years of experience in professional services as well as holding board positions in not-for-profit organisations.  Jonathan is passionate about helping business owners succeed.

When not ‘balancing the books’, he can be seen chasing his 3 young children or emptying the dishwasher at home whilst his wife is having a sleep in.

Mark Grant

Partner

After graduating from Monash University with two degrees in Accounting and Computing, Mark joined Jack Feldman & Co where has been steadily rising through the ranks. Mark has proven himself to be a talented and dedicated member of the team. Groomed and gaining his experience through Jack Feldman & Co, he is now delivering expert advice as a Partner at SCG Accountants & Advisors.

With a focus on customer service, Mark goes above and beyond to understand his clients and their individual needs. His experience has provided our clients with in-depth quality financial and taxation advice. As a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, Mark is competent in business advisory, taxation and compliance, Income tax for individuals, trusts, companies and self-managed superannuation funds, Capital gains tax (CGT), Goods and Services Tax (GST), Fringe benefits tax (FBT) and Superannuation.

Known as the IT guru around the office, Mark is experienced in MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks and many other popular commercial desktop and cloud based bookkeeping systems. Mark also excels with desktop support.

Mary Gilbert

Senior Accountant

A driving force behind SCG Accountants & Advisors, Mary is a long-serving and dedicated member of the team. With over 30 years’ experience in taxation and accounting, Mary is remarkably efficient with an excellent eye for detail. She is always on top of legislative changes and compliance issues.

Mary joined Jack Feldman & Co over 20 years ago and has been a key contributor to its success, watching the firm grow and flourish. She is a subject matter expert, providing customers with timely and expert advice on all taxation matters.

Mary has a Diploma of Commerce from RMIT and is a member of CPA Australia. In the past she has also worked as an accountant for a number of small businesses including a leading architectural firm, a piano and organ sales and import business and an office design company.

Mark Granek

Manager

With a desire to assist his clients and deliver expert guidance, Mark Granek joined SCG Accountants & Advisors in 2021. Mark began his accounting career in public practice in 2011 at GMK Partners where he built his knowledge across a broad range of businesses, clients and industries. In April 2015, GMK Partners merged with Deloitte Private where Mark was promoted to a Client Manager.

He has extensive experience advising small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), high net-worth individuals and families, self-managed superannuation funds (SMSFs) and professionals across a range of industries.

With his friendly and personal approach and strong technical background, Mark enjoys assisting all his clients in meeting their compliance needs and helping them concentrate on what is important in their business and life.

Luke Zhang

Senior Accountant

The technical brains behind SCG Accountants & Advisors, Luke is the quiet and strong silent achiever. He works exceptionally hard in the back office on client’s accounts, ensuring they comply with all legislation and taxation matters.

Immigrating from China in 2006, Luke gained is Masters in Practice Accounting from Monash University and then joined Jack Feldman & Co in 2010. He is also a qualified CPA Accountant and is currently studying diligently for his Masters of Tax at the University of Melbourne.

Briget Collier

Corporate Secretarial Services

Instrumental in running SCG Accountants & Advisor’s Corporate Secretarial Services, Briget’s in-depth knowledge and expertise in Corporate Secretarial makes her a key member of the team. She is responsible for the office administration and changes that need to be done to companies, trust and in dealing with ASIC.

Briget joined Jack Feldman & Co over 15 years ago and has also watched the firm grow and prosper to what it is today. Starting off as a junior receptionist many years ago she has progressed to Office Manager and Head of the Corporate Secretarial department. 

Briget manages the office and client administration,  ATO lodgement matters, corporate registers and all other ASIC requirements including ordering and processing new companies, registration/transfers of business names, deregistration of companies.

Wendy Kramer

Reception

Vickie Tran 

Accountant

A friendly and hard-working accountant, Vickie is the newest member of the team. She had gained over 4 years work experience over taxation and accounting in a CPA accounting firm before joining SCG Accountants & Advisors. Vickie works in the back office to assist the partners and senior accountants with clients’ accounts and other compliance matters.

After obtaining a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Melbourne, Vickie decided to pursue further education at RMIT University. She obtained a Master of Accounting degree in 2012 and is currently working towards gaining her CPA accreditation.

Hans Teatro

Accountant

Hans is an offshore accountant based in Cebu, Philippines. As a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting at the University of San Carlos, he has passion for numbers and a sharp eye for detail. Though he has extensive accounting experience before joining the team, he is still very excited to gain in-depth knowledge of Australian accounting and taxation.

Outside of working, Hans enjoys travelling, spending time with his family and watching movies.

Jack Feldman

As the original founder of the accounting practice Jack Feldman & Co, Jack has since retired but is still available as a Consultant.
